Orianne Zanone News Works Bio Contact Liens Orianne Zanone lives and works in Switzerland : In her artistic approach, she is particularly interested in the work in situ, in the development of a project according to its situation, its environment and its history. The themes of the border, the passage, the inside / outside, are recurrent sources in her work. Here in Shanghai, themes of compatibility, cohexistence between nature and city, real or fake environment , old or young constuction, evolution or demolition are inspiring of her work ... The search for appropriate materials according to what she wants to create is also the mainspring of creation, a search for material playing with complementarities and paradoxes: wood/plastic, hard/soft, mat/colored ... The exploitation of materials which assemble and fall back is an important aspect of her approach. A search for textures and for colors, playing with the light, the transparency and the reflection, used in the manufacturing of various sculptures and installations in the space. It is also a play with the architecture and the light of a place. The often generous dimension of her installations invites the spectator to dive there. Her work includes: painting, drawing, photography and installations for which she uses a great variety of materials: wood, fabrics, plastics, synthetic resin, metal, various kinds of paintings ... Her artistic training begins with one year at the school of art Tetard in Lausanne (2001 ), followed by the gymnasium in an artistic section ( 2002-05 ), then the ECAL, the cantonal school of art of Lausanne, (2005-09). Now her studio is at Ex-werner atelier in Geneva, Switzerland. She is, at the moment, as an artist in residence at the Swatch Art Peace Hotel in Shanghai.
